The home where the children live (approx. 110)A daily occurrence there is to sing and dance and beat on the drums.
Sitting here in America for one of the last nights in a few months it finally became real.
I wanted to work in Africa since I was like 10 years old. I wanted to work at an orphanage with children.
I am going over to Uganda on Wednesday for three months. I am going to be working with Love and Care for all Uganda. I will be working closely with my friends who live over there. Their names are Brandon and Jennika.
I was running all over the place getting my last few weeks. I’m so excited to go over and show them what I all found for them. Lots of Christmas Presents.
My house looked a little bit like a storm went through.
I finally got all my paperwork done, and sent my Covid test off this morning, and worked my last day at work.
I don’t think my house looked this bad since I rented my Apartment.
People have said to me, you are beautiful. I did not believe them. I would say thank you, but it would go in one ear and out the other.
I hated how I looked. I always thought I was this hideous, fat, ugly person.
Then one day God started speaking to my heart. He said, I have created you in My image. I don’t create junk. You are My beautiful daughter.
But I didn’t feel like His beautiful daughter. I sometimes didn’t even want to be beautiful. Because beauty meant pain.
Pain of never measuring up to what I saw as the standard of beauty. Pain of being looked at wrong by guys. Pain of never being good enough.
Then God spoke again, every day. He kept telling me in different ways. I love you, You are beautiful!! I was listening, but I still didn’t believe it. It felt like a lie.
When I looked through God’s eyes at me I believed Him. I realized that I was looking through my own lenses instead of trusting God and looking through His eyes..
Looking at myself through God’s eyes has changed my life..
I am beautiful!!
I am His chosen daughter!!
I am His. And He doesn’t make junk..
You are not junk. Because you were created by God.
You are beautiful!! Or handsome 🙂
You are His chosen one.. Choose Him too..
Ask Him if you may look through His eyes at the situation you are facing.
Was I made to fit in with everyone around me? Or was I made to fit in with God?
Sometimes I felt like I didn’t fit in anywhere.
I dress differently than most of my friends.
I often wondered why God chose me to be so different.
When all I wanted was to belong somewhere I was wanted.
Then I heard someone share this.
They said, “Why do you try to fit in when God created you to stand out?”
That made me think.
Does God really want me to stand out from the world?
I was reading my Bible and I came across this verse.
John 15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
So here it is saying I was chosen by God to be set apart of this world and to fit in with God.
I fit in with God!!!
WOW!!!!
He will never leave nor forsake me.
He is always there no matter where I am.
So have you ever felt like where ever you are, you never fit in?
I often felt condemned in the midst of people giving me awesome compliments. No matter what I did there was always a little voice in the back of my head.
You didn’t do it the right way you should’ve done it that way. It was there constantly draining the life and passion out of me.
Why does it happen to me?
I couldn’t even begin to overcome it on my own strength. I tried for years to just ignore it but it was still there in my weak moments.
Whenever I felt insecure, it would go from quiet voice in the back of my mind, to loud voices so loud that I couldn’t even hear what the people around me were saying.
I realized that the only way I could even begin to overcome it was through Jesus Christ.
Jesus died on the cross to bear those burdens for us. He was condemned on that cross. He faced the worse condemnation any human ever faced.
How did Jesus overcome it?
The way Jesus overcame that is he knew who he was and he knew his authority..
So because Jesus pressed through and did not give up, He gained authority over the enemy and all the evil spirits.
So now I have the opportunity to pray and connect with the authority Jesus has, and stand against the spirit of condemnation.
I found out who Jesus says I am. I was praying one morning and writing down what God was speaking to me. And he told me about 50 things that I am.
Jesus taught me who I am.
I am not condemned.
I am redeemed!
I am His daughter!
Now when condemnation speaks in the back of my mind, I first of all take it to the cross and I ask God what he thinks of that situation.
I now know who I am.
But that spirit of condemnation tries again about a week after to see if I am still strong.
I can take it to the cross again and after a while it doesn’t happen anymore.
